A young Mike Quackenbush once opened his Trapper Keeper to find a surprise from his friend, the flourishing pencil artist Clayton Morris, that read "Zip the Ghost Egg - to frighten Grizzly Bear Egg" followed by an awe-inspiring illustration that would have reduced Leonardo Da Vinci to tears. As lifelong best buds, Clayton and Mike would jointly found the world's most awful garage band, Edgar Oliver Rice & The Pistachios, until the timely intervention of the FBI saw them disband under threat of imprisonment. Together they tried everything - paper routes, home-movie making, crime fighting, burger flipping, pro-wrestling, journalism, surviving the University of Pittsburgh, sledding the mountains of Helena, and most recently of all, podcasting. Their enduring friendship has spurned shared interest in things like superhero movies, Chai tea, They Might Be Giants, European culture, MST3K and LOST, and the books of Michael Chabon and David Sedaris.
While these two old friends haven't lived in the same city at the same time for over a decade, they keep in close contact about all things going on in the world, and now they record their weekly chats for your benefit. For all their similarities, they remain unique - Clayton is fascinated by the world of politics, Mike isn't even registered to vote. Conversely, Mike is something of a fashion clothes horse, while Clayton is known for his nudist tendencies. When not training at his school or wrestling on the independent circuit, Mike can be found hosting CHIKARA Podcast-A-Go-Go. Clayton, well-read and well-coiffed as he is, is known internationally as the host of Fox & Friends, having garnered fame on shows like The Daily Buzz and Good Day Philadelphia. Both can be heard here, at the Grizzly Bear Egg Cafe, or as the kids are calling it, "The Grizz." Together, these two best pals are easily the most famous sons of West Lawn, Pennsylvania.
